If you want to sell an online course using WordPress, then you have to get your hands on Learndash.
In part one of this interview, I spoke to Justin Ferriman about why most online courses are a poor student experience and student completion rates hover between 2% and 10%. In part two, we take a look at how Learndash can help you solve a lot of these problems.
Let’s take a look at just some the functionality Justin talks about in the interview.
BuddyPress is a Facebook-style social network plugin for WordPress that allows users to connect and communicate with each other. Learndash has a BuddyPress add-on that brings this experience to the learning environment and instantly builds a community amongst your students.
bbPress is a forum plugin for WordPress that, when used with Learndash, allows students to have very specific conversations about a particular course.
BadgeOS is a great plugin for WordPress that allows you, as a course publisher, to reward your students with badges for completing lessons or entire courses. This is a form of “gamification” and helps breed some healthy competition within your community.
Zapier is an API integration tool that allows you to connect various software apps together via their respective API’s. Learndash integrates with Zapier which opens up endless possibilities. Send an email to a student to congratulate them completing a module using MailChimp? Zapier is the bomb.
Memberium allows you to effectively sync your users between WordPress and Infusionsoft. This means you can unlock content in Learndash based on the tags someone has in Infusionsoft. One great use case is tagging a student in Infusionsoft when they complete a lesson and then triggering an entire sequence of emails, follow ups, SMS messages or even physical handwritten cards in the post (using a third party service like Thankster). You wouldn’t believe the feedback we get from students who receive handwritten cards in the post. They love it.
If you’re serious about selling courses online, Learndash and WordPress are a lethal combination.
It’s what we use to consistently deliver great student experiences and achieve over 65% completion rates while everyone else is struggling to get 10%.
